Jesus wants you to be HOT

Lukewarm is not enough for God's people

It is so easy to be a fence sitter. It is easy to press the "maybe" button. In a world where apathy is ok you don’t need to have a strong opinion. Whatever works for you is ok and no one else really matters. As long as the job gets done that’s ok, no matter how good, right?

I wonder whether you are listening to this "fence-sitting" voice when it comes to living a Christian life? Do you just act as a Christian on Sundays? Do you just put Jesus in a box and bring him out when you need to?

Well here is what the Bible has to say about being lukewarm:

"These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you either one or the other!" (Revelation 3:14-15)

God calls us not to be fence sitters! If we claim to follow Jesus we must reflect that in how we live, not just on Sundays, but everyday in everything. That can really tough sometimes but it is worth persevering. Jesus doesn’t promise an easy life but he does promise eternal life after death in heaven for all who believe him and walk as he did.

So examine yourself. Do you really trust God? Are you willing to put everything on the line for His sake?

If you are, then now is the time to change.

Here are some tips for how to stay HOT, not lukewarm:

  • Read the Bible every day. Learn what you really believe.
  • Pray each day that you would grow in knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.
  • Share the good news of Jesus with those around you.
  • Stop saying maybe to the Christian life. Make a decision.
  • Choose God because he is the way, and the truth and the life.
