Google is God

Welcomg to the new 'Church of Google'

Matt MacPherson, the founder of this new church says that, "we at the Church of Google believe the search engine Google is the closest thing humankind has ever come to directly experiencing an actual God. We believe there is much more evidence in favour of Google's divinity than there is for the divinity of other more traditional gods." Thus, Googlists (followers of Google) believe Google should rightfully be given the title of "God".

The Church of Google even offers proofs that Google is God, claiming that Google is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (everywhere), answers prayers (just click and you get your answer), potentially immortal, infinite, and remembers all.

The Church of Google have their own Google 10 commandments, Google Trinity (the Internet, The Google search engine and the web browser) and Google Church Ministers and members. Seems like "Googlism" is growing.

Now, at one level, this is pretty funny. And yet, at another level, this is pretty sad. For this is yet another slap in the face of the True and Living God. Sadly, mankind hasn't changed much. Two thousand years ago Paul wrote in Romans 1 that God has made himself known to us, His creation. But we have all chosen to ignore the plain truth about God and even suppress the plain truth about God (1:18-20) Not only this, but we have foolishly chosen to worship things that we have created, instead of the Creator (1:21-23).

God has moved heaven and earth to make himself known in the person of Jesus Christ. There is far more evidence for the fact that the God of the Bible is God, than there is evidence that Google is God. This True and Living is truly omniscient, omnipresent, prayer answering, immortal and infinite. And God is personal, loving, compassionate, gracious, merciful and forgiving in a way that Google will never be. God even gave up his one and only son, Jesus so that we can be forgiven for ignoring Him in the past.

So who are you going to worship as God? Google, which is made by men and women, or God who made men and women? I hope the answer is God. And if it is God, let me ask you another question; what do you spend more time on, God or Google? Could be that a true follower of God might even turn their computer off right now and open their Bible and pray.
