Will Jesus come back one day to forgive us again? Or will eveyone eventually believe in God?

Will Jesus return to forgive us again? Hebrews chapter 10 verse 27-28 says no, Jesus won’t return again to forgive sins.

“Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation for those who are waiting for him.” - Heb 10:27-28

Here it makes it really clear that when Jesus died on the cross, he died for everyone so that all people can be forgiven. The reason that God can forgive us is because he placed our punishment onto Jesus when he died that day. And Jesus death was so huge that you can ask God to forgive you today and he will do it because of what Jesus did on the cross all those years ago!

The next time Jesus returns it will be to take all those who have asked for forgiveness and lived with Jesus as their Lord to heaven. He won’t need to forgive us again, because its already been done!

However, Hebrews 10:28 also makes it clear that not everyone will be forgiven and go to heaven. Those who go to heaven will be the people who are ‘waiting for him’. Unfortunately there are lots of people in Sydney (and the world!) who don’t follow Jesus and aren’t waiting for his return. For these people, the judgement that they will receive from Jesus will be a bad one. That’s why Jesus commands his disciples (in Matthew 28:19-20) to go and tell the whole world about him. So that everyone can follow him and go to heaven.
