Tron Legacy

Tron's plot sounds a lot like another story...

Tron Legacy is another visually spectacular movie” which has all the plot elements of a classic tale. In Tron’s digital world there is a creation account complete with a Father/Creator Kevin Flynn and the explanation of the presence of evil “Clu”. The horror of broken relationships and the importance and priority of relationships restored are key themes. The rescue/salvation involves a long dangerous journey and is finally achieved via a beam of light. Along the way sacrifices are made with the Father sacrificing himself in order to save his Son and his world of origin. Does any of this sound familiar?

Tron sounds a lot like the Bible

In the Bible we read a creation account. In it God is the Father/Creator not with the help of Tron or Clu but in partnership with Jesus and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1-2). There are no unforeseen creatures like ISO’s and yet evil appears destroying the perfection that God made (Genesis 3). As a result of sin entering into the world we see the horror of broken relationships and the importance and priority of relationships restored (Genesis 4-11).

Relationships are broken left right and center especially humanity’s relationship with God. God’s rescue plan involves a long dangerous journey from Abraham in Genesis 12 all the way through to Jesus the light of the world (John 8:12) in the New Testament. Along the way sacrifices are made with the Son Jesus sacrificing his life on the cross to save a rebellious people like us.

Tron is fiction   but the gospel is reality

This is the gospel the legacy handed down to us today. And unlike Tron this story actually happened. This leaves you with a few questions:

1) Do you know/love God as your Father/Creator?
2) Is your relationship with God restored via Jesus the Light of the World?
3) Have you accepted Jesus’ sacrifice that brings you rescue/salvation from sin and evil?

If your answer is “yes” then you are part of God’s restoring this world and yours to perfection; something that Kevin Flynn couldn’t do.

If your answer is “no” please take the time to look into the claims of Jesus and his life death and resurrection. You can have a relationship with God by trusting in his son. To find out more ” http://www.christianity.net.au="">click here.
