Can i ask you a question? Im a new born-again Christian, Christ changed my life last month.
I have been together with my boyfriend since highschool. And we are planning on getting married 3 years from now. We are in a mutually monogamous relationship and we've been together for 5 years, never dating anyone before. We gave each other's virginity last year and have been sexually active.
Since now Christ came into my life and all i wanna do is to please Him, my question is, is it okay to have sex and sexual thoughts of my boyfriend since we're fully committed and getting married soon? And why is a marriage necessary if were fully committed and promised to stay together always anyway? From where i come from, marriage sometimes just seem like a show of wealth and family tradition.
When it comes to the “baby out marriage” concern or “abortion” concern, we already made it our responsibility to search and apply the most effective birth control method. And since abortion is illegal in our country, we understand the risk and as usual here if someone gets pregnant they will get married as a consequence. We also already made sure that we are not transmitting any sexually transmitted disease, since we promised for real to be strictly monogamous and will continue to be it for the rest of our lives, whether we like it or not.
My boyfriend is okay with any choice that i will make even though its hard. He is from a Christian family, and he wishes to get to know Christ personally as well, but seems to have trouble in knowing God personally as if God's a human being that he can touch and feel. My boyfriend conclude that if we are commited to each other and already said our promise to be loyal to each other and already prayed about it, we're already married infront of God without those kind of marriage ceremonial. Marriage in our country feels like it was only for legality and people arround us only thinks of it in that way.
