Can we be friends with someone we had sex in the past?

Question:

Dear Pastor, 

Before I become a Christian, I had sinned, I had sex with someone. 

I do come to realize that that is a serious sin. I feel guilty every single day. 

My question is, for the people I have sinned with in the past (someone I had a sexual relationship with before), can I still be friends with him? or should I cut ties with him forever, wipe him out in my lives?
