If we are to forgive our enemies then are we to forgive Satan?
Is there any reference in the bible says that Jesus is God?
Christians maintain that Jesus was fully human and God at the same time. I’ll list below a few texts you can refer to for this:
John 1:1 - In the beginning was the word (Jesus - this is clarified in John 1:14), and the word was with God and the word was God
John 1:18 - No-one has ever seen God, but God the one and only who is at the father’s side has made him known
John 10:30 - I and the Father are one.
John 20:28 - Thomas answered and said to him “My Lord and my God!” Romans 9:5 - ...from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever
Titus 2:13 - looking for the blessed hope and appearance of our great God and saviour, Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 1:8 - But of the son he says “Your throne O God is forever ...”
2 Peter 1:1 - To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
These are not exhaustive, merely intended to show that Jesus understood himself to be God in the flesh and his apostles understood likewise. I personally find some of his actions and difficult comments equally compelling - such as his miracles and healings or even his conversation with the Jews where he called himself “I am” (John 8:31-58), the name God called himself when he appeared to Moses. (Exodus 3:14).
