I didn’t know before reading The Da Vinci Code that Jesus was made God in 325 AD.
How can I feel and experience God more?
how can one feel God more?
i know god and believing in Him isn’t all that feeling Him and stuffs, but
being human, we are weakened by our senses.
ive read, God sometimes intentionally draws away from us. just like what he
did to people in the bible to know their hearts.
This is a good question and I’ll answer it by saying a couple of things.
Firstly, we are people who have been created to feel. God created us with our feelings. However, our feelings have been affected by our sinful state. We are not what we are supposed to be. One day, however, those who are Christians will be glorified (Romans 8:30). That means we will finally become what we were created to be – and our feelings, like every part of us will be perfect.
In the mean time, our feelings will be imperfect. That means that our feelings cannot be a reliable guide to whether we are in a relationship with God. Our relationship with God is based on faith not on feelings. So, God tells us in John 3:36 that ‘Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.’ That is a promise we can trust – no matter how we are feeling. Jesus also told his disciples in Matthew 28:20 ‘behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’ This is a promise that applies to all his disciples and is not based on feelings.
So, in this life we live by faith. Feelings are important but they cannot be the ultimate guide of our relationship with God – our faith in Jesus is.
