What makes the Fervr Christian College Guide different?
Fervr is committed to helping Christian teens and young adults make wise decisions for their future.
For that reason, unlike many other Christian college guides and directories, we display only those colleges that match our criteria for academic excellence, Christian values, and theological integrity.
What is the CCCU?
Most of the Christian Colleges on the Fervr Christian College Guide are members of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU).
The CCCU is a higher education association of more than 180 Christian institutions around the world. With campuses across the globe, including more than 150 in the U.S. and Canada and nearly 30 more from an additional 18 countries, CCCU institutions are accredited, comprehensive colleges and universities whose missions are Christ-centered and rooted in the historic Christian faith. Most also have curricula rooted in the arts and sciences. The CCCU’s mission is to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and to help our institutions transform lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to biblical truth.
CCCU institutions fit into one of four categories: Governing Members (which are voting members as it relates to selecting members of the Board of Directors), Associate Members, Collaborative Partners, and International Affiliates. These different categories are intended to acknowledge the variety of missions and different contexts in which CCCU institutions operate and thus to allow each institution to find its best fit within the CCCU. This collective effort is invaluable not only to strengthen the voice of Christian colleges and universities in the landscape of higher education but also to advocate for the collective good that religious colleges and universities bring.
The chart below illustrates how the guidelines define each category:
