Life is short. Max it!

What do a Pepsi commercial and a 2000 year old letter have in common?

What if the world was coming to an end? Wouldn’t you want to MAX the time you had?

Pepsi is running a competition challenging people with this question. Asking people to submit their ultimate MAX experience. I guess you might have seen the TV ads.

Actually they almost have it right. Life is short. Actually this world could end tomorrow. Jesus might return later today. We don’t know exactly when it will be. But what we know for sure from the Bible is that “the end of all things is near” (1 Peter 4:7)

So how will you MAX it? What is your ultimate experience?

Is it to live like a rock star for a day? Is it to get with some boy or girl?
OR
Is it to live for Gods glory? Is it to devote your time to sharing the gospel?

Here is how Peter encourages us to live:

"The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."

This world is coming to an end. To max our time on this earth we need to be putting others first and loving all people in real and practical ways. Start praying for those who don’t know about Jesus. We need to be actively seeking to share the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Stop living selfishly only for the things of this world and start living “so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.”

Life’s short. MAX it!
