Should Christians resist getting the RFID microchip?

It is supposedly the mark of the beast, and I don't think it is safe.

Hi there - thanks for your question.

There have been many different ideas over the years of what the 'mark of the beast' is from Revelation 13:16-18:

"Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave,[a] to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18 This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666."

At this stage, no one is being forced to have an RFID chip implanted. The verse indicates the mark is something a person MUST have in order to buy and sell. But the RFID chip has nothing to do with us being able to buy or sell, so it is unlikely to be the mark of the beast.

What's even more important than this is that if you have trust in Jesus, you are promised to be saved. So, focus on that - and if a situation ever arises where all of humanity is forced to wear a mark to buy & sell, then we may have a clearer picture of what the mark is.
