What are the lyrics of your life?
Are you better at finishing the Scriptures or the lyrics of the latest song? Know this one:
‘You go talk to your friends, talk to my friends, talk to me, but we are never, ever, ever …’
Song lyrics are catchy, there’s no doubt about it. For better or for worse we always seem to get them stuck in our heads – sometimes we can't ever get them out ... especially if we listen to the same song over and over again. But wouldn't it be even better to have God's words 'stuck in our head'?
Here’s a quick test for you. Below are 3 unfinished song lyrics and 3 Bible verses. It’s not a perfect test, but it might be a helpful in seeing if you need to listen to the word of God more.

Remembering God's words to you
In Colossians 3:16 we are taught to let the word of God dwell in us richly. And in the gospel of Matthew (Chapter 22), Jesus blasts the leaders of the church of the day because they did not know what was written about God. He says “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God”.
As Christians, we want to know God through his words. So a good question to ask if you’re a Christians is, what are the lyrics in your life?
What do you have stuck in your head? Is it the song of the day or the word of the everlasting God? If it’s the latest song lyrics, then maybe you’re listening more closely to your favourite music than the Word of God.
Why not try and work harder on reading and memorising verses of the Bible. It's amazing how great it can be in the middle of a difficult time in your life to have God's word pop into your head & remind you of his promises.
One practical way you can do this, is by finding some Christian songs that are 'Bible verses set to music'. By listening & singing to these songs, it will help you get God's words stuck in your head.
